Learning on the Log is a non-profit organization serving the Atlanta area offering comprehensive sensory-based programs for exceptional children.

Based on Dr. Stanley Greenspan’s DIR®/Floortime Model, their programs work to engage children in enjoyable and meaningful activities while improving their communication, gross and fine motor skills. They have refined their programs through years of working with exceptional children. Learning on the Log is unlike many traditional learning experiences for children – their programs feature fun, physically challenging activities in a natural environment and a variety of settings.

The Problem

Learning on the Log needed a website which allowed them to save money changing upcoming events and making regular updates. Being a non-profit organization which schedules events for kids, they needed a solid event calendar to keep the families notified. Their current website required a web developer to make updates for them and typically lead to long delays. They also had no way of contacting all of the families to give them event updates except for sending basic e-mail, which causes the risk of getting their mail blocked.

Our Solution

We found a new website design for Learning on the Log and kept the cost down by purchasing a website template. We built their new website using a Content Management System which allows them to make website updates themselves. An Event Calendar was added to the website to allow Learning on the Log to allow families to get event details. We provided Learning on the Log with an attractive email newsletter template and our email newsletter system, allowing Learning on the Log staff to easily update families of upcoming events and provide them with event status updates. A Photo Gallery was also added to allow families and kids to see pictures from the events when they get home.
