Flash can look really good, but does not make much of a difference if nobody knows its there...
A lot of people like the flair that flash brings, unfortunately some people are not aware that Google does not have the ability to crawl through it. While there are ways to incorporate flash into a page and still give Google something to be happy about. It's nice to see fresh new ideas that provide a nice graphical touch while still giving Google the ability to know where and what your page is all about. While stumbling I came across the great new site dhteumeuleu.com that showcases some of the cool things being done with javascript.

Alright, so I was reading some recent news on the laws of Digital Rights Management (DRM) and I came across and article in Wired which sums up the whole process really well. There are a ton of problems with DRM and all of them are going to hinder the future of computing by putting the creative process in the hands of large corporations to protect their copyright. I can understand their want to control their own property, but this entire thing is getting out of control. I found an article that really sums up the whole thing really well and how mixed up it really is.

My friend John was trying to think of a way to explain the problem with digital rights management to his dad and friend of ours who don't see what's wrong with it. He compiled a list of examples of DRM-related problems to help people understand what the big deal is with DRM.

We want to send a congratulations to one of our clients - Social Diva!
Peg has always done a great job running a solid business and we have been proud to have her as a customer. Recently she was featured on MSNBC for her company Social Diva. Using the InnoShare Email Newsletter has allowed Social Diva to keep in contact with their customers and help promote events across the country. As an Atlanta Web Design and Internet Marketing Company we firmly believe that when one of our customers does well, so do we, so we work hard to make sure our clients are getting the best service we offer.
Congratulations Peg - the report looked Great!

What do you do if you want your web site to run faster or otherwise add processing capacity using the same number of web hosting servers?
Multi-core CPUs have clearly been the answer offered by chip makers like Intel and AMD over the past couple of years. As operating systems and desktop software continue to bloat, multi-core CPUs offer a more cost-effective and power-efficient alternative to traditional multi-CPU configurations. Intel is now shipping core 2 quad-core processors and Sun has been marketing four- and eight-core "coolthreads" sparc-based systems for a year or more touting their reduced power and enhanced performance capabilities versus similarly equipped multi-cpu solutions from other vendors.

How sweet it is to talk to a human..
I recently came across this and knew immediately it was too good not to share. We have all wasted at least a day (cumulative total) on the phone with robots, most likely far more. I know there has been many times that I have given up on phone system "stockyards". I use the term stockyard because it most certainly makes you feel like a cow being pushed through the series of gates to your death. Well, next time try the list out when applicable. It might not take 20 minutes to jump through the hoops to get a warm body on the other end."The List"
Disclaimer: You might still have to deal with rude customer service representatives who take pleasure putting you on hold while they do their nails. Also remember to make sure to get their name so you know who to give a hard time for dumping you back into number pad hell, rather than dealing with the problem.
"Dumb of the Month" AWARD
A 14yr old kid in New Zealand just recently won my personal "Dumb of the Month" award. He was recently picked up for stealing an XBOX 360 after he tried to go online with it. The problem was that the previous owner had already registered it with Microsoft. After the boy ordered another power cable (since he forgot to steal it) they had his address. Wow... I am always amazed at people...Anyway, it seems this has brought up all kinds of Privacy Policy Issues with Microsoft. It seems it took the police over 2 weeks to get the information out of Microsoft even though they knew something wasn't right with the whole thing. Now, there are two ways you can understand this. Your personal information is VERY secure and Microsoft will protect you no matter what or if your XBOX is stolen it might be kinda hard to get Microsoft to tell you where it is. But Microsoft holds that they were in the right and are very protective of their clients identities, but are always happy to assist the police.

Be afraid, be very afraid!
Well, as most patriotic Americans know Boston came under siege from terrorists this week. The perpetrators at large being the "mooninites". Some might ask is this some religious extremist group? It would be nice but unfortunately that is not the case, they are cartoon characters. Yes, cartoon characters instilled fear in the hearts of Bostonians. The portrayed "improvised explosive devices" were L.E.D. caricatures of these characters. Apparently a "concerned citizen" reported one of these suspicious boxes and the severity of the threat became apparent when more were found throughout the city. The only thing to do was shut Boston down. As stated in the norton post we happen to be fans of the cartoon. Is it for eveyone? Probably not but, humor is where you find it. Which cartoon it was is kind of irrelevant here, it could have been Tennessee Tuxedo for all I care. What is important is to consider that some people in advertising could be looking at 3-5 years! Instead of Boston owning up and saying "we all messed up, sorry for the scare" they decided that it would serve better to charge these advertising agents like they had intentions to do harm. 02/02: Review : Design at Play
Cartoon Network at MODA
Design at Play: The High Design and Low-Brow Humor of Cartoon Network
Opening February 1-May 19
Directions & Event Information

A couple weeks ago I got an invitation in the mail about coming to the opening of the "Design at Play" Exhibit hosted at the Museum of Design Atlanta Downtown. The opening night was free and who am I to pass up free Cartoon Network art. I love Cartoon Network, and the prospect of meeting the "Voice of Space Ghost" (once the voice of Atlanta) was a prospect I could not pass up. Also seeing as how InnoShare is an Atlanta web site design and web development company, I felt like it was almost a job requirement as an Atlanta Web Design consultant to support my local Atlanta designers.
